Kanika Subramaniam real name is Divya Venkatasubramaniam and Kanika is her stage name. She is an Indian film actress and model. Beside that she is also a playback singer, TV anchor and dubbing artist. She started her film career in 2002 from a movie Five Star which is a Tamil movie. She is also best known of her role in this movie as Eashwari.
In this film her beauty and role both are critically appreciated and from there her journey stated in the South Indian Film Industry. She also acted in movies of Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. She is currently doing movies in Malayalam film industry and her latest hit movies are Pazhassi Raja and Bhagyadeyatha. Currently she is also acting in upcoming movies of this industry. Her active year was 2002 and remains active till yet.
She was born in Madurai in Tamil Nadu, India. Her mother and father both are engineers. She got her school education from the TVS Matriculation high Secondary School which is situated in Madurai. She was a good student there and has also awarded with many awards in which Tamil Nadu State Award for Educational Excellence is included. This award has been given to her in 1999.
She is also an engineer and completed her degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science or BITS. During her studying she was found of singing and for this purpose she gave many stage performances. Meanwhile she is offered to perform in Miss Chennai Beauty Pageant Contest. Despite of her less experience but tall figure she won this contest and this victory opened the doors of film industry for her.
