Made of Honor Movie Review

For a romantic comedy genre love Made of Honor is a perfect choice for a weekend movie. Starring Michelle Monaghan, Patrick Dempsey, Sydney Pollack, Kevin McKidd, Kathleen Quinlan and Chris Messina, the film released in May 2008. It is directed by Paul Weiland and is produced by Neal H. Moritz releasing under the banner of Columbia Pictures.
The story starts on the Halloween night of year 1998 when Tom Bailey Jr. played by Patrick goes to the room of his pre-arranged date Monica. What he finds in bed is not Monica but her roommate Hannah played by Michelle. Michelle refuses to sleep with him and his totally honest with him. This is the start of their friendship. In the very next scene Tom, who changes girlfriend every week, is shown as an extremely rich man and he and Hannah are best friends. Hannah tells him that she has to go to Scotland for work for couple of weeks. In her absence he realizes that the feelings he has for Hannah are much deeper than for a best friend. He decides that as soon as Hannah will be back he will declare his undying love for her leaving his life of a playboy far behind. But what comes as a shock is that Hannah returns engaged from Scotland to a wealthy Scot and is soon to be married. She asks him to be his maid of honor she has no other best friend who could take his place. The story gets further complicated when Hannah tells him that the wedding is going to take place in Scotland.
Overall this film gives a sense of a fairy tale in reality. It is a lighthearted comedy to enjoy on a day you want to relax.
