The recent reports from the Hyderabad said that the students of the Joint Action Committee of the Osmania University will call for the shutdown in Telangana on the 5th of September 2010 in order to fullfill thier demands. They demanded for a proportional share for the recruitment of service officers included in Group 1. On the other hand the preliminary examination will be held on this coming Sunday for the recruitment of Group-1 services.

Pidamarti Ravi who is the leader of Osmania University Students said that they have very simple three demands and if the state government will not pay attention to there demands they will call for shutdown. There three specific demands are given below:

Firstly they demanded that the share of the Telangana should be decided on the basis of its population. Secondly the corrupt chairman of the the Pulblic Cervice Commision of Andhra Pradesh or APPSC should be removed from his posts. Last but not least they demanded that the rule of reservation should be applied from the initial stage of preliminary examination.

The JAC demanded the removal of A Venkatram Reddy who is currently the chairman of APPSC and has been considered as a corrupt officer by the JAC. They said that this man brings injustice to Telangana so he must be removed from his post. Other general people’s groups also joined the JAC in order to extend the shutdown call or BANDH Call. This is a revolutionary step by JAC to bring reforms in the State and the government should response them correctly because they are asking for the right things.
